Hi, my name is Xavier and I have a 66 E-type Roadster that I purchased in 1969 and a 1969 E-type Roadster that I purchased in 1985 just for the hard top. The 69 has been sitting in a garage since them--Rusting.
I have done most of the work on my Jag including the first valve job, replacing the clutch, brakes, shocks, and rebuilding the manual trans after I lost 3rd gear on a trip to Florida (From Detroit)
As you can see I like to drive and I also like to fix it.
I was searching today on how to switch the alternator from the Lucas to a Chevy as the alternator is acting up. I thought I kept a copy when our Jag club wrote it up a number of years ago. I will post the question later.
Thanks and I look forward to reading the info on this site.

Jags and the "other" car.
Thank you, I will attach some pictures as I am not very good on the computer, but better working on cars.
The first one is my 66 then my 69 and finally my Jag next to my Brother's car. You can see the difference in which is the best car.
My Brother passed away a couple of years ago and his car sat for several years. It took me over 4 months to get it back on the road. I guess I did a good job as his son came to Detroit from Texas and drove it home and it is still running.

P.S. click on them for a better look

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.
