Hi everyone !
Happy New Year !
I am a new member and I`d like to introduce myself.
I live in the Netherlands Europe and i hope to enjoy my newly acquired 2005 XKR very soon. Last summer while visiting the UK and walking along some cars for sale, my wife punched me in the ribs and said "Look at that beautiful car"!! My wife is absolutely not into cars and she doesn`t know the difference between a Mercedes and a childrens pedal car, but this car (a 1999 XK8 coupé) struck her (and me) Well, she said,"if you like it, buy the car". Oh, my wife is one out of a million...
The price was fair , however the right hand drive, prevented me to do so. Back home I started to look for a used XK8 Jaguar and found a 2001 XK8. I made a test ride and I knew, this will be my new car. Well, to make a long story short, I ended up with a 2005 XKR , 20" wheels, red Brembo callipers ,metallic green, loads of power.... and in pristine cosmetical condition.
I purchased this from a (non Jaguar) car dealer and there are some minor issues to address (at dealers expenses), such as, non working remote control, hand brake light stays on, one headlamp adjusting motor needs to be replaced, new front brake disks and some other small things (does this sound familiar ?)Well, they (and I) hope to have the car ready soon as i am really eager now to take her on the road. I told them that tomorrow will be my birthday..... I`ll keep you all posted.
