Finally got off my tail and joined the forum. I've owned an '88 XJ-SC for a couple of years now and have really enjoyed it. It's arctic blue with an Isis blue top and interior (absolutely stunning color combination IMHO). She only had 38,000 miles on the odometer when I purchased her. The only non stock item is the R134 refrigerant conversion I had done when the original R12 went south. The cassette deck even works and I actually found a cache of some period rock and roll tapes. The wire wheels have since been replaced with the original cast wheels and I run the correct speed rated Pirelli tires as well. While we don't use the car as a daily driver I use it for one of my week long sabbaticals to California each year and on nice days the Mrs and I pop the T-tops and enjoy the sunshine. I look forward to sharing information and hopefully learning a lot more about the V12 that pushes this car along quite nicely. It's really great to own a true grand touring car that is such a pleasure to drive. Now if only I could modify the weather here in the Pacific NW so I would use her more often. Like that's going to happen.

Thanks, I personally think the car was destined to be a classic the year it was produced. I absolutely love the body lines of the XJ-SC. The long front end, coupe shaped T-Top and the short curved trunk just work really well. My particular car is already over 20 yrs old and my wife and I hope to keep it running another 20. The XJ-S series will continue to grow in popularity particularly as V12s become more scarce. That and the fact Tata now owns the company will only go to add more value to the original British models IMHO. Is it just me, or does anyone else have a problem with permanent grins while rolling down the highway in these cars?
