Hello everyone!
Aric here from Seguin Texas. My parents came across a beautiful 1989 Jaguar XJS (in great shape and all parts intact) for a great deal back when I was 16 years old.
The Jag did have a dropped valve seat, but was otherwise in amazing shape.
My mother (originally born in Liverpool, England) initially got this car for herself, but after about 6 months decided that it was a bad time to put money into it.
Long story shorter... I was in love with this car and made it very clear that I did not want to see it go.
Then my poor Jag disappeared,
sadness right?
On Christmas that year guess what was waiting in the driveway, those sneaky buggers seem to have a flair for the dramatic for sure!
Anyway, being 16 I was not in a position to shell out the cash for repairs nor did I have the mechanical know-how at the time to dive into what still to this day seems like the most complicated engine that I have ever seen.
So I did everything I could to preserve my new Jag as well as I could until the time came where I would be in a position to bring her back to life.
Well, 6 years in the U.S. Military and a couple of years of time wasted later, here I am, ready to fix my baby!
Throughout my project (started about a month ago) I have been periodically pulling from the massive pool of knowledge that is this site, so I finally signed up! Let me start by saying thank you to everyone who has posted to this site, the information has proved invaluable. I look forward to getting to know some of you and eventually showing off my finished project! I will post some pictures very soon.
Cheers!
