Hi all
I have just joined the Forum
We have owned 3 jaguars and have had good runs out of them except for the latest acquisition, a jaguar xk8 1997 model which is causing me considerable grief in the computer department. I will post a specific thread on it and am hoping for some help.
My first Jaguar (actually my wife uses them most) was a beautiful blue 87 series 3 sovereign which gave excellent service. I traded it for a song when we got an x300 with the little 3.2 engine. I wish I had of kept it as well. It has been a great car and has clocked over 300 ooo km with little problem
I now have purchased the xk8 and it is proving a real problem child
We live on our rural property in a remote part of Australia, and as it goes to 'limp home mode' shortly after start up I'm having real problems getting it to an expert
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Alan

Hi Alan, welcome to this friendly forum. I expect that you'll soon receive some guidance on your questions, and be on the road again without any limping. Sounds like you're no stranger to Jags, I expect you will be able to bring a lot of your experience to this forum as well!

See you over in the XK8/XKR section!

Steve

Limp home mode could be a lot of things. Perhaps a code reader and you could give us some codes and a lead so we can help you...

Welcome to the forum!!

Throttle body is a guess :/ I'm just guessing

Welcome to the forum Alan,

Sorry to hear about your 'problem child' You are definitely going to need a Code Reader to troubleshoot this.

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the Australia / New Zealand Region section by following this link Australia / New Zealand - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your part of the World.

Enjoy the forum.
