New member in Alberta Canada
Hi, I'm Gazoo2, aka Dave.
I reside in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I recently bought a 2005 XJR with 91000 km. It is very well cared for cosmetically, and seems to have been well-cared for mechanically as well. As it is a modern car, and was from the period of Ford ownership of Jaguar, my hope is that it is a reasonably reliable car. Heck, even VWs and Fiats are reliable cars nowadays, right? I've only had opportunity to drive it one day for about 300 km while I drove it home, and now it waits in the garage for the roads to clear some more. I did like the way it drove and the overall "feel."
So far I have read just about every thread in the first 5 pages of the X350 forums. I have learned a great deal, and thank everyone who posted information, or a solution, or photos of a "how-to." These are vital in enabling us mere mortals to own expensive cars such as these. The forums have also succeeded in making my wonder if I should have my head examined, as it would seem that Jags are subject to just about any possible screwball problem that could befall an automobile. I certainly hope that not all of them happen to this car.
I am a pretty accomplished amateur mechanic, having restored a couple of American cars and rebuilt several V8 engines. I am hoping that I can manage most (or at least some) of the mechanical issues that will (no doubt, apparently) arise.
Thanking everybody for their willingness to share experiences.
Regards
Gazoo

Welcome to the forum Dave,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
If you haven't got the XJR on a battery tender during the bad weather, it's a good plan to do so. All the modern Jaguars are very sensitive to battery condition. Many issues and much grief can be avoided by keeping the battery fully charged.
Follow this link XJ ( X350 & X358 ) XJ6 / XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X350 forum for help, advice and information.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the Canada Region forum by following this link Canada - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your country.
Enjoy the forums.
