Default New member in Australia.

Just copied this intro from the XJ40 forum to say hi to everyone.

I'm new to the list and am from the south coast of N.S.W. Australia and am a very happy owner of a '91 Daimler (Vanden blas) that I bought in the last few months after a long search.

She's in very good condition with all original paint and very straight body with only some expected stone chips and some minor scratches. The only rust is some minor stuff around the fuel filler flap.

Mechanically it drives like a new car, with the steering, brakes, suspension and bushes, fuel pump and all the water hoses recently done and near new Pirelli P4000 tyres all the hard work is done, engine bay too is close to spotless.

Interior is very good for its age with some minor cracks on the base of the drivers seat and a small tear in the base of the passengers seat.

Rears look as though no one has sat on them, even the rear ash trays have never been used.

Only real thing is a sagging roof liner.

Welcome to the forum Valguard,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums.

No need for a link to the XJ40 forum as you've already found your way there.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Cheers all, I finally found how to change my signature. I was using the app and the mobile version of the website which doesn't have the option to change it, I went back to the default view and it was there.
All sorted now.
Btw my names Troy.

Troy,

Signature looking good. Next challenge is to add a SigPic!

I had a 1989 Solent Blue XJ40 with oatmeal trim - one of my all time favourite colour combinations.

Unfortunately they don't survive in England like they do in Australia. Always amazes me how many Australian members have immaculate looking XJ40 and earlier models.

Welcome from me too...just a little further south around the coast line.

Oddly my sagging roof/head lining was surprisingly cheap repair. $350 I think done with original Jag fabric. Gary Ayres in Springvale (Melb). Just left it with him and picked it up later in the day. (RWC item in Vic) But it had passed your easy whatevercolour slip you have there.
Best of Luck

Cheers all.
Not sure what my interior colours called, been meaning to write down the codes and look them up. It's grey anyway. I guess our climate is better for them and we don't have salted roads though the intense sun down here can be bad on the paint work and coastal cars have the sea spray to cause rust. I'm only a couple of hundred metres from the ocean but the cars well covered.
Thanks Gippsland, Melbourne's a bit far, just under a 1000km from here, but I'm sure there'll be one close that can do it. Good to know it probably won't cost an arm and a leg though.
If it was a rego renewal than it would've been a pink slip which is a yearly thing, new rego is a blue slip, usually a one off. I had to get a blue one as it's rego was Vic when I bought it. Only comment the mechanic made was if I was planning on keeping it, silly question really.
