Default New Member From Australia

Hi Everyone, as the title suggests I am a new member from Australia. Whilst I have held an interest in Jaguars for many years I only bought my 1st car about 3 years ago - a 1985 XJ6 Series 3. It was a good car however it didn't quite meet my expectations and I only kept it for a year or so. I also like BMW's (can you mention that here?) and bought an E34 M5 - It required a bit of TLC however it makes me smile every time I drive it! However I digress, I will be purchasing another Jaguar and this time I want an XJ6 Series 1. I always read posts on this forum with interest however I thought it was about time I took the next step. Cheers, Brendan.

Good to have you with us. Yes you can mention beemers or anything else. Try XY GT HO P3 just to confuse them!

Not sure how a series 1 will satisfy you better than a series 3 but I guess you have done your homework.

What part of Oz are you from Brendan?

Cheers,Neil

Hi Neil, thanks for the welcome, I am from Shepparton, Victoria - so I am not that far away! Yes the Series 3 are great cars and many/most people would say the best. as mentioned I did own one for a time and have driven a few. I suppose part of the attraction of the S1 is their relative simplicity compared to the S3 - no fuel injection, no climate control, electric sunroof and electric windows etc and I also like the (obvious) fact that they are the original.

I am still looking for a vehicle and as mentioned in my posts a manual overdrive was my 1st preference however finding one is difficult and finding one that is good and not a fortune is even harder, so it looks like an auto will have to do.

Cheers,

Brendan

Not complicated, that I understand. Electric gremlins were well known. Sure one will turn up.

Have a sister that lives in Shepp and a daughter in Ky. Was in Shepp after the 'Opera in the Alps' last month. Great drive over the big hill. Decided to upgrade the Jag's brakes after that trip.

As I type I see Bushfires all around you. H'way closed south of Toc. We're smoked in too. Stay safe!
Good Hunting.
