I just picked up a 2011 XJL in Claret Red. With a leaper that I really like. I thought I'd say hello!

Welcome to the forum HarryTales,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you have already found your way to the X351 tech section so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Welcome to JaguarForums.com... it's great to have you onboard, and I'm jealous - you have a leaper :-) In the UK they are not allowed due to the risk to pedestrians :-(
I hope you enjoy your time on here, it's a great crowd, and anything you are ever unsure of please just ask there's always someone who will respond and help you if they can..

Hi and welcome from a fellow Canadian and Ontario resident! There's certainly lots of us here. Graham has given you the links to the tech and regional sections of the site, please have a look around.

I don't think I've ever seen a leaper on your model of car, wonder who added it?

Default thanks!

Thanks everyone. This forum has such a wealth of information and nice people. I've had this car a day now and I didn't do much more besides exploring it. I'm originally from India and knowing an Indian company I admire now owns Jaguar Land Rover added to my volition to buy this car.

Steve/Grant - I've loved the leaper since I was a kid and wasn't even driving cars. For me a Jaguar without a leaper is something else. I know many people think it's got no place on the newer jags, but it's irreplaceable for me! The growler doesn't do it for me. Too bad it isn't allowed in the UK. I figure the leaper is the least of your problems if you get hit by a car as a pedestrian. But I'm sure there's some logic to the law.

Mikey - I agree, I haven't seen a modern XJ with a leaper. Definitely none of the others at the dealership. The previous owner (I don't know him) bought it new and added a bunch of nice options. If he's reading this in Ontario, I'd love to get to know you. Your car is immaculate. And I'm on the Cdn site now, thanks to Graham. I'm looking forward to attending events that would allow me to look at classic jags.

Norri - signature is done. Makes sense to have it on.

Harry,

An XK or an F-Type would make a great replacement for the MB and keep the X351 company in your garage.

One would think if you were a pedestrian in danger of a leaper you are pretty well screwed by that stage already.

In the works for early next year. I love the look and sound of the F-type. But it's not practical in Toronto. The XK is what we are thinking. Have you tried driving it?
