Hi Everyone! New member in Chicago. See Codes below, can anyone recommend the BEST place to start on eliminating the codes.

My new girl: 2004 X350 XJ8 BRG w/ Tan

So, I'm starting my adventure with Jaguars. Plugged her in today and got 15 error codes. So here is where I'm at:

When I bought the car, the battery was shot. We had to jump it just to test drive it. During the test drive the "restricted performance" error message appeared on the dash. I gave the guy about what I assumed scrap value for the car is...despite the fact that she was very clean visually, I know the engine issues will be exhausting. I limped her home about 10 miles keeping it at 45mph or less.

I replaced the battery immediately Brand: Duracell Ultra Item Number: SLI49H8M for $128.69 plus taxes. Car starts and runs.

Drove her around the block and still 'restricted performance' plus it indicated that engine coolant was low. I added coolant.

15 Codes as of today:
P1000
P0117
P0128
P0171
P0302
P0300
P0303
P0304
P0305
P0306
P1313
P1314
P1316
P1638
P1699

So, my question is, where do I start??? I have researched each code and read lots of your posts here, THANK YOU!

Any ideas where to start???? I'm excited....and bit scared!

-Andrew

Hello, Andrew,
You've just acquired a 13 year old Jaguar for scrap value. And it runs! Congratulations!!
All those other things, although quite annoying at the moment, can doubtless be sorted sooner or later, probably one or two at a time.

Excitement is good. It's fed by the good times and gets you through the bad times.

One of the Mods will be along shortly to direct you to the correct section for your car.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Andrew,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Please replace the grid reference in your Location with Chicago, IL. The purpose in asking for Location is so we can know your vehicle market specification - it's not to pinpoint you for a missile strike.

The code P1000 is a status indicating OnBoard Monitoring Tests have not been completed since the last memory clear. If this wasn't you, then someone else has already been trying to troubleshoot this.

It sounds like you've already found the model forum but if not, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ to the X350 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/
to find other members in your region. Please replace the grid ref in your Location with Chicago, IL

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
