Hello All!
I am new to this forum, but not new to Jaguar. I haven't owned a Jag for about four years or so. I had a pristine 1990 Regency Red Majestic that unfortunately got wrecked when it went off the road at about walking speed during an ice storm. The underside got so banged up by big rocks that the insurance company totaled it. At that time I also had a 1995 6.0 XJ-S convertible in Brooklands Green (often mistaken for British Racing Green), a fantastic carnival ride of a car also in perfect condition that I sadly sold to help pay for my daughter's NYU tuition. I drove a VW Cabrio up until a couple of weeks ago, when I took possession of a platinum and charcoal 2005 XK8 Carbon Fiber Edition convertible. Without a doubt it is the finest, most exciting and spectacularly gorgeous car I have ever owned or am likely ever to own. It has almost made me give up the dream of someday owning an E-Type. I am embarrassed to think how much gas I have wasted the past few weeks, joyriding like a teenager with his first car. I've already added almost 1,000 miles to the mileage. I just never want to go home. I try not to condescend, but I do pity all those poor guys who don't own a Jag. It must be unpleasant having to make do with a Mercedes or a Porsche or other lesser marque.![Icon Wink](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
I am hoping my magical car never breaks. But if it does, it is so reassuring to know this forum is here to help. I do as much of my own work as I can. It's not always easy since I bought perhaps the only house in Connecticut that does not have a garage. I am counting on a trouble-free winter and look forward to doing some wrenching come Spring. I plan to be a frequent visitor to the forum and hope to get to know some of you personally. If you're in Fairfield County, get in touch. Cheers!!
