Hello all,
I recently bought a 2000 Vanden Plas since I need a 4 door. My BMW Z3 M roadster and big turbo DSM aren't really family friendly. I picked this one up about 800 miles from home in Maryland for super cheap since it had been sitting. The paint is garbage and the interior needed work. I just finished putting new shocks, tie rod ends, brakes, spark plugs, ignition coils, a couple of sensors and all new fluids in the car. Also installed a new ash tray since the old one wont stay closed, new center console lid, drivers door panel and seat covers are on their way. It just got a new pioneer avh3300nex radio, it was a Sony demo car so it has a 10" subwoofer, amp, good speakers and tweeters installed. It also has a dvd monitor in back but it's getting another in the other side and both will be new units with wifi hotspot and roku. I am in the middle of plasti dipping the entire car. All chrome trim is going matte black and the car will be aintree green. I am in the middle of buying a set of 2004 XJR wheels for it and it's getting a built Chevrolet 6.0 v8 with a 76mm turbo as soon as it warms up a bit so if anyone needs a new 4.0 v8 or trans let me know. I thrash on these projects so all but the engine swap will be done inside of the next 4 weeks or so. I'll keep up with pictures the best I can. Let me know if you think this is blasphemy or not. Not that it will change what I'm doing.

Many of us drive Chevy powered Jaguars. Although a few object on principle, mostly we're an open minded bunch who feel it's Your car and you have the Right to do whatever you want to do with it.

It should be an interesting project for sure, keeping you busy for some time.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB (who drives a Chevy Powered Xj6).

Nice to hear that! The swap should be pretty simple with the kit from jaguar specialties. The manifolds will probably take me a week or two since I work 65 hours a week and only get a couple hours of project time per night. Luckily my wife is good with my car antics.

I genuinely sleep about 5 hours a night. I like to be busy. Haha
