Hi
I have just joined! I live in Essex in England.
I purchased my first Jag a few weeks ago on a spur of the moment decision. Its a 1968 MK2 2.4. Lovely looking car and the first Jag I have owned, I used to have Triumph Spitfires around 20 years ago but haven't really had room or time to have a classic for a while. I'm currently having some issues with the car (getting it started!!!) which I am slowly working through so I'm looking to see if there are any tips I can use. My car DIY skills are a little rusty but things are beginning to come back to me.
Cheers
Adrian

Welcome to the forum Adrian,
That was some spur of the moment! Many begin with a total rebuild so you're well ahead at the getting it started stage.

Glad to be here, the decision was helped by the wife liking the 'inspector morse' type car. I thought I would start with a cheaper car rather than the 3.4 or an Etype. I had consumed a few glasses of wine and put in a speculative bid on ebay! Lo and behold I won - I have probably overpaid but the car is not in bad condition - I'm just left with trying to understand if the first restoration was done correctly.

Hi Marvelman
I rebuilt a Mark 2 2.4 from one complete car plus a bare (unused) shelll over 7 years finishing in 1988. So I am fairly familiar with these cars. If you want any questions answering, you can PM me or post up in the relevant forum as I usually look in the ones for models I once had or have now. If it was the subject of a previous rebuild, do you have any photos or other records ? The 2.4 engine is really nice, but is a bit underpowered for this very heavy car, but it will keep up with modern traffic, no problem.
