New Member Feral XK8
Hi all,
I've owned the slightly wild, previously neglected 99 xk8 for two enjoyable years now, and would like to think I saved it from being parted out; hence the username Feral XK8.
Ironically, I now feel the XK8 has saved me from the woes of the pandemic, and kept me happily busy with maintenance that I might not otherwise would have attempted; not to mention the spirited test drives in between.
To keep it on the road, I swapped the motor for a newer year, lower mileage with new timing chains/updated tensioners etc...
I also have a long laundry list of things done...thanks to this forum.
Originally purchased with 76k miles, now driven 92k miles (mostly touring miles all across the Midwest, to the West coast, and back to the Mountain West) I've thoroughly enjoyed the rewards of what self maintenance is all about.
Looking forward to learning more about these fine motorcars, as I'm still chasing down some codes, and also dealing with typical XK8 cosmetic issues.
Thanks, AJ1999 triple black XK8 convertible

Hello,
First off, Congratulations on all your successful repairs! And it's a bit Wild? Bonus!!
Anyone can have a boringly "Domesticated" Jaguar that's well behaved and gives no problems, but it takes Real Talent to get a Wild one in hand and keep it there.
And it's BLACK!! I Love BLACK Jaguars. They're my favorite.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
