Hi,
I actually joined a few weeks ago but haven't posted yet.

I have had a 1991 V6 facelift XJS for 10 years. Ran great up until a year ago when it needed substantial welding underneath. It was off the road for 1 year - the garage didn't work too quickly. They made new sills etc and made it solid underneath but since I got it back it has not run properly. I don't think it liked being off the road.

I have an intermittent starting problem, and an occasional misfire when I do get it started. I had the usual electrics checked from Crankshaft sensor to plugs. New plugs, new dist cap. I even spoke to it nicely.

My current; thinking is that it's immobiliser - related. I'll check through all the relevant posts in the forum. Hope to be able to impart some discoveries of my own on this site.

Welcome aboard Michael.
We don't have the rust problems in Australia to the extent that seems to plague you. Salt on the roads I've been told.

Hope you get the problem sorted out and back on the road.
Good Luck,Neil

In my brief ownership of a Jaguar and haunting this site, I have learned that Jaguars don't really like to be idle for long periods.

Welcome from ElinorB.
