Hi All,
ok so my first question: I’ve just bought a 2013 XFS 3.0D
in the boot there is a large bulge under the carpet. Under which I discovered a large metal bar running across the width about 3/4 of the way into the boot. Looks like some kind of torsion bar but creates a slightly unsightly and poorly designed bump in the boot. What is it and should it be there?

Welcome to the Forums.

That sounds odd at best.

The members in the XF (X250) Tech Section should have answers for that.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums David,

On the occasions I've had an XF as a courtesy car, I've never needed to go into the boot. A photo of the offending structure could help.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xf-xfr-x250-44/ to the X250 forum for help, advice and information. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.
