Hi All,
ok so my first question: I’ve just bought a 2013 XFS 3.0D
in the boot there is a large bulge under the carpet. Under which I discovered a large metal bar running across the width about 3/4 of the way into the boot. Looks like some kind of torsion bar but creates a slightly unsightly and poorly designed bump in the boot. What is it and should it be there?

Welcome to the forums David,
On the occasions I've had an XF as a courtesy car, I've never needed to go into the boot. A photo of the offending structure could help.
