New member and first time Jag owner
Hi,
I've owned many British cars through the years like Triumphs, Austins, Austin Healeys but this is my first Jag. It's a 1998 XK8 convertible with about 40,000 miles. I've never been much for flashy cars which was nice because I never could afford them. I always feel for the small, odd, ugly cars. What I called cute. If you can name an odd ugly car, chances are I've owned one. I
had a BMW Isetta, Triumph Mayflower, Renault Dauphine, and on and on. I even had a Saab Sonnet. I'm not even going to mention the 15 or 16 Fiats and Lancias.
So far, I really like this Jaguar. Cup holder sucks, but they all did in 1998. There's a small rattle from time to time coming from the dash area that I need to run down. Not that Triumphs and Fiats don't get rattles from time to time but they didn't cost $75,000 in 1998!!!!
So far I love the forum and I'm finding it very helpful.

Welcome to the forum JSRoss,
That's some list of previous marques and models. Congratulations on your first Jaguar.
As you've been viewing the forum, you may already know your way around but if not, follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Cupholders are a pain for many and never really got any better but the dash rattle should be easily resolved.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You may also like to visit the US Lower Atlantic Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the XK8 and the forum.
Graham
