Hello to everyone,

My name is Alexander and I live in the heart of Germany in Wiesbaden which is quite close to Frankfurt. I turned 31 this year and am working at a company in the healthcare field. Since the english language is not my mother tongue please be forgiving with typos and bad grammar.

Last year in november I decided to divorce my beloved 14 year old Peugeot 106 and get a "Jag" instead. However I didn't had the heart to sell the 106, so I kept it in the warm garage of my parents.
As I went out in search for a new car, I had clear ideas about what it should be like: I wanted to get a second-hand car which is powered by a V8!

After some Audis, Mercs and BMWs, I stumbled across Jaguar's V8 generation (x308). And since I really like the classy and elegant body of the x300 and x308, I finally got a XJR built in 2000. The british-racing-green beauty - I named him "Winston" - is almost fully equipped (even with the rare R-performance brembo brakes) and got 150k km (approx 95k miles) on the clock.

As far as possible I try to service and repair the car by myself. There are some workshops around which provide lifting platforms for rent. And since I got no garage or parking-place in Wiesbaden, that's the only way to mend things at the car.

Since I'm an engaged member of the german Jaguar forum (jaguar-forum.de, Nick: xjr2014) I'm not new to forums in general. And since I have profited already multiple times from the profound knowledge here, I want to return the favour and help wherever I can and share my experiences.

Best regards,

Alexander

Hello, Alexander,
Please don't be concerned about the quality of your English. First of all, it's Very good, and second, it's Way better than most of us speak German!

It's such a nice car you found. And we like to have new members share what they know with the rest of us.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome.

As Elinor said, your English is better than some English speaking members on here, especially your punctuations.

Awesome car, enjoy it.

Welcome to the forum Alexander,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the X308 technical forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
