Greetings all!

Just joined jaguarforums. I'm currently looking for a XJ6 Series 1 or 2 to restore and have as a daily driver. In high school I had a Austin Healy Sprite and in college I had a TR7. Then I went and bought a 1990 Miata brand new. Loved it, had it for 29 years and 340,000 miles. The wife and I currently have a 2009 Mini Cooper, but are in need of a second car again (lost the Miata to an accident). So, I'm returning to my British roots as it were. I have been reading many of the posts over the last several days as I do deep research, and using Google to research parts availability. It's been exciting to see so many parts are readily available.

Looking forward to finding "my" car and joining everyone in the journey.

Welcome to the forum Jahmiata,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds as though you may already have found the relevant model forum but if not, follow this link
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/ to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Forum Sponsor S N G Barratt produce very good parts catalogues which can be downloaded here:

www.sngbarratt.com/us/#!/English(US)/Downloads

You can also visit the US Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-mid-atlantic-65/ to find other members in your region.

Good luck in the search for "your" Jaguar and enjoy the forums.

340,000 miles on your Miata! How many engines was that?
I'm sorry you lost it.

Replaced the first engine at 240,000. Didn't really need it, no performance loss, just two small oil leaks, but my local Miata club members volunteered to help with a swap. We did it over one weekend. Started Friday after work. Done Sunday late afternoon. Good times.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!

Dwayne,

I used to live in Charlottesville before moving to Hampton. We'll have to meet up at some point.

Thanks!

I spent three weeks down under back in 2001, loved it!!! Best vacation ever. The Miata club in Sydney took me for a great drive around the area. I was also out to Kangaroo Island, Alice Springs and Melbourne. Would love to make it back there some day.
