Default New Member Hello

Hello!

A couple days late in intro'ing myself. Just saw this forum. I live in Los Angeles, CA area, and finally paying attention to my Jag after a 33 or so year hiatus.

History: 1964 E-type 3.8 OTS; dad bought it 1975; gave to me 1980; 1985 after a great 200 mile day trip put it in garage and just never got back to it. Stupid me. Now trying to resurrect it to see if it starts/drives. Am going slow waking it back up. Thanks to everyone in advance for any help/advice/tips/knowledge you might provide.

Is a numbers matching car; has 76K miles; was repainted and interior redone before we got it, not sure why; mechanical looks mostly complete but some things seem odd here and there, like interior and top were cheaply redone, console seems odd, seats are cloth, still discovering things after so many years of not paying attention to it. I am pretty sure it was not crashed.

Initial job is to hand crank engine to see if it turns. Marvel oil in the plug holes. Pulled cam covers to inspect and Marvel tappets/valves/cams/etc. Getting ready to see if I can hand turn it next weekend. Can hardly wait.

Best to all!

Welcome.

That long without paying attention, "she" will be pissy, and you are going to PAY, trust me.

Well done anyhow.

WOW! We have members here who would give Body Parts to have an E-type of Any sort and you one that's languished neglected for 33 years! Well, I suppose life gets in the way sometimes.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
