Hello, everyone
My name is Bill and I'm from Minnesota. I am "approaching 60" and have been a British car enthusiast most of my life. I have a 1958 XK150 Fixed head that I am trying to get back on the road. I This fall I purchased a dealer exec driven 2015 F-Type S as a daily driver. The Jags share the garage with a 1961 MGA and a 1975 Triumph T160 Trident.
I am an engineer by trade and have spent 30 years in the medical device business. If you have seen Office Space or Bleed For This, you have seen my work. I designed the halo brace worn by Vinny Pazienza and Tom Smykowski. I grew up on a farm in northern Minnesota. Before I became an engineer, I was a machinist.
I really like the F-type so far. I plan on driving it year round. Compared to my other British cars there isn't a lot of information available on the F type. I have yet to see another one on the road. I am looking forward to learning about the car and discussing it on the forums here. Hopefully I can bring some value to the group in return.

Thanks everyone. I went to the map and added my "stick pin" to the F type owners map which doubled our state's representation. I got caught in an ice storm last week and had a "moment" on the freeway. The rear tires started spinning and the car went into a classic "tank slapper" where, with each swing of the rear end, it gets closer to spinning. A combination of low traffic volume, stability control, and the grace of God kept me on the road with all paint intact until I bled off enough speed to regain control. The driver's seat could use bit of a rinse ;-)
This week I picked up a set of Vela wheels I can tell you from personal experience that the Vela will not clear the V6 S front brakes. The pad holding frame hits wheel when the wheel flange gets within half an inch from the hub. Live and learn.

Welcome, Bill. You have great taste in cars! I had a 1960 XK-150 FHC for seven years but sold it almost 40 years ago, out of financial necessity. I miss it still and wish you all the best in resuscitating yours. A couple months ago I cured my terrible Jag withdrawals with a 2006 XK8 FHC and do love it. I do however wish I also had my XK-150 back. What a glorious sound those old XK sixes made!
