Default New Member Intro

Hey All. My name is Lyn, and if all goes well, I'll be picking this 2010 XF Premium tomorrow.

Any advice for a first time Jaguar used car buyer? What do I need to know before I pull the trigger on this deal?

Thanks so much in advance, and I hope to become an owner by this time tomorrow.

Welcome.

Looks good from down here.

Just get the SMILE correct, the car will do the rest.

Apart from the steering wheel being on the wrong side, it really looks to be a very fine example.
Some comments for your consideration.
Is the interior as good as the outside?
Did you notice that 2 of the wheel centre caps were missing?
Have you tested and everything with the controls and driving experience to make sure that it all works properly?
If it's purchased through a dealer, will you get a warranty?

First thing I noticed was the wheel center caps. Honestly, it gave me a bad first impression. Who in the world would drive their car like that? :-) It made me wonder what else they didn't care about.

I will be driving it tomorrow and will ask if I can have a mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection. I need to look for signs of oil or fluids leaking. I hope there is sufficient service records. The interior is beautiful. The motor was replaced 14,000 miles ago, and I'm not sure if that should concern me or give me peace of mind. I will give it a good test drive and I will be testing all functions that I can think of including vents, navigation, back up camera etc. I will learn a lot more about the car tomorrow when the owner is there to answer questions and give me some details. It is a private party sale, so no warranty or dealership involved.

Anything else I need to think about?
Thanks!

An independent inspection by a mechanic not associated with the dealer will give you the best results.
