Hello all,
new to this forum.
I have been lurking for a few weeks looking for information.
So thought it was about time I joined up.
I have owned quite a few Jaguars & Daimlers over the years. Mainly XJ saloons.
I would happily have another S3 XJ6 now.
I presently own a S2 Daimler Double 6, S2 XJ6 & an '85 XJS V12 HE.
But my reason for being here is I have recently purchased a 2008 2.2D X-Type as a short term commuter car.
This came with faults, which I am trying to get sorted.
I have also been known to tinker with Classic minis & Vauxhalls.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forums Jagman.2008,
I can't understand why you wouldn't use the DD6 for commuting.![Icon Lol](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
If it's anything like the XJ12 I had in the 70's, double figure mpg will be a rarity which was frightening enough when petrol was £0.76 per gallon!
You've most likely already found the relevant model forum but if not, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.
Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
Enjoy the forums and good luck fettling the X-Type.
Graham

Your right the DD6 was second choice & twice the size. It's the Pre-HE fuel injected version. So that'll get me another 1 mpg..!
Thanks for the directions to the X400 section. I'm working my way through the multiple resons for 'Gearbox Error'
Cheers.
