I am a life long resident of California and have always admired Jaguar although I have not yet owned one. As a kid I was in awe of the E type and still am. As an adult I choose between two of the cars I had loved in my teens, th E type and the Sunbeam Tiger, the old car from Get Smart TV show. For maintenance reasons I picked the Tiger.
Now I am retired to Arizona and just underwent a heart transplant 15 weeks ago. I realize life is too short to drive cars you don't really love sa long as you can afford them without causing financial difficulty for your family. While I've been back in LA for the surgery my 2013 Genesis 5.0 R spec was hit head on and totaled while I was stopped in a left turn lane. Now I have to replace and the XF has become the lead contender. I am looking for a CPO 2014 or 2013 V6. I need some help with differences between Prestige and Portfolio packages and bass car features. Most salesmen seem uncertain or unwilling to spell it out.
I have two color choices that interest me and several colors that are non starters for me. I love the British racing green metallic with beige or ivory interior. I like the white exterior with beige or ivory interior. I have had other accidents in past cars that were grey or silver. They tend to blend in with asphalt and become invisible so no silver or grey. Also living in Arizona rules out any black on black or similar because of sun and heat.
I've driven an XE (by mistake) I liked it but its a bit small in rear seat and I think to new a model to offer lease return cars that I want. I've driven a V8 XF but don't want a model year 2012, thats older than my wrecked car. I saw an XJ at a good price and drove across town to see it. It had three distinct rattles plus had been parked under a tree dripping sap. I was supposed I didn't like the feel of it. It did offer the sport and dynamic modes but felt heavy. I expected it to feel lighter due to the aluminum vs steel but was surprised. I think the XF is the one for me and appreciate any help in differentiating the packages for 2013 or 14 model years. A lead on a CPO BRG/beige one thigh under 30K miles would be great too.
Thanks for reading this and now I'll start browsing the forums
