Default New member intro ( Cornwall)

Hi all, have just joined the forum. I'm the proud owner of a 2007 S Type XS 2.7d down in Cornwall. The cars v.low mileage (35k), I bought it a couple of years ago on 27k. Had the normal S Type gremlins in the form of a split turbo Flexi pipe (now fixed) & a few warning lights due to low battery/cold weather. Only current issues are an erratic fuel gauge which from a bit of online research sounds like it's the dial as trip computer range works fine. Not sure if it's as simple as getting a 2nd hand dial, dashboard out & swop over individual dial or not as don't want to get into the realms of affecting the digital computer?Any advice/experience from others is welcome. Other issue is on startup with heater on, or stuck in traffic I get diesel smelling fumes in the cabin - doesn't happen with blower off or when engines up to temp so guessing it's the Denso pre heater seeings I know both Flexi hoses are ok. Again, any advice welcome. Couple of things I'm considering are 1) retrofitting touchscreen Jag satnav unit - I've seen a few threads on the forum including a really good one with step by step photos. Sounds like I need to get a front to back of car wiring loom made up but can't find any contact details for forum member 'Jostaffs' who seems to be the go to man for this. Again, any advice from anyone whose done this I'd like to hear from them on difficulty level, what's needed and any tips. Second thing I'm considering is retrofitting the rear entertainment LCD screens mounted in the front headrests. Again, anyone whose done it please feel free to pass on any advice/ words of wisdom! On a final note, my brother has a '99 plate S type 3.0 litre which needs a new rear subframe if anyone knows of a good one for sale?
Regards to all,
Shaun

Welcome to the forums Shaun,

I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. I've deleted your "Wanted to buy" thread there. Please read the rules on advertising. There's a bright yellow announcement at the top of each model forum:

You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
