New member from Ireland/Finland
Hi all, new member here!
I am from Ireland but live in Finland now. I bought a 1998 XK8 in Ireland and recently drove it up to my new home in Finland.
I got the car through an Irish car forum, and the drive up was the first in the Jag. Kinda silly buying a car without even seeing it, but the guy i got it from was a well known member on the boards.
The car was exactly as described, and didn´t give any hassle on the trip up (about 3500kms).
Before the car came up, I had the timing chain and tensioners done, I also had to get the VVT units replaced. I got a full service done on it too.
I joined here as I wanted info on converting the headlights from RHD to LHD and got some very good info, job done now (saving about €1400 I was quoted for new lights).
Winter had arrived here now, and its now -11c outside now. I will be getting some new tires today (nokian hakkapeliitta 7) as I drove it up on summer tires.
I am now in the process of registering the car up here, so I may be asking a few questions about jobs that may need to be done!

Great when a deal works out like that. It sounds like you're no stranger to Jaguars and knew the right questions to ask.
Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR section for help, information and to post your own contributions. We have a number of members who have gone through the headlamp swap / import hoops and will be able to advise you.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
