Hi everyone, I'm Francesco - the proud new owner of an S-type!
It's my first time as a Jaguar owner and initially I wanted to begin this experience by buying either an X308 or an Xj40. I then realized those were really tricky cars to start with, so I decided to try and work on an S-stype to save from the Junkyard.
So I adopted an Alpine Green 3.0 '99 3.0 S-type. Both bodywork and some mechanical parts need work, but I have some experience with Alfa Romeos, so it can't get much more difficult than that :-)
I have read a lot on these forums already while I was learning about Jag's lineup between the late '80s and the '90s.
I hope to learn much more, now that I have to get my hands dirty!

Welcome to the forums Francesco,
If you can beat an Alfa, you can beat an S-Type.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.
Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
Enjoy the forums.

Hi all,
it's been months since i posted last, but I wanted to share some progress over my S-type.
This X200 had a faulty gearbox which has been replaced and many bits and pieces that needed a fix including its bodywork, the leather interiors and so on.
So here's a quick before and after, with some alloys and grille updates.
*Almost* everything now works!
