I have recently purchased a 1996 XJ6 and can't get the cassette deck to work. It may be broken or I might not be doing it right, The tape won't stay in.

Probably the belt has perished inside.
Supermod will be along soon to point you to the right forum to inquire more.
The people there should know all about it.
Welcome to the forums.
Enjoy the drive.
