Talking New member - maybe

Hi there
From Denmark, just bought my first Jaguar, a fabulous 2007 XKR convertible.

A bit of history:
Have owned many fine cars, mostly American muscle and in the last decade two DeTomaso Panteras, the latter with 600 HP. I'm a DYI guy when possible, I enjoy it and save money.

A friend in here already:
Yes tberg is a Pantera friend, and the main reason I bought this Jag. I had looked for a worthy replacement to my 600 HP Pantera that's now for sale, and had considered primarily three cars: Ferrari 456GTA, Maserati GranTurismo and Porsche Cayman. I mentioned that on Pantera forum and tberg suggested looking at Jaguar XKR. Well, I knew they looked good. So I checked local ads, found a loaded convertible at a good price. I went to see it, partly to report back to tberg. But I saw it, I heard it, I drove it, and I bought it, then and there. And haven't regretted, Jaguar had created a great car without me noticing...

Why the maybe:
I will need to be on a forum, so many friendly and helpful people. But I initially went on "jaguarforum.com", the UK one. Why? Because they live in my time zone, and they shop parts inside the EU (for now). This forum here, I gather from tberg that it's bigger (good) but is it primarily American? Don't get me wrong, I've had plenty of Pantera help from Americans over the years, but when I need help early in the day, Americans sleep and when I need parts fast, the Atlantic Ocean is a bit in the way... So I need to decide which forum to use, two are one too many. So a small poll perhaps: Are there any Danes or Brits on this forum? Is it 90% Americans?

I hope I haven't offended any Americans, and if I end on this forum, don't worry, my posts are usually much shorter

One of the Mods will have to tell you the stats, but Mercans and Aussies are the most frequent posters in the threads I frequent. However, choice is a given in here so I seriously doubt you've offended anyone. If you have, well, that person is too sensitive anyway! (grin)

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Hi Mikael,
Welcome. I am also on the other jaguarforum, however, I just don't find it as informative with far less participation. So, I don't go there as often. Your expertise on cars will be greatly appreciated on this forum just as it is on the Pantera forum.
Look forward to your future posts. And your car looks gorgeous!

Graham, I've updated signature etc., and visited European section, and saw that you had run a list for a Belgian member with all members having "Belgium" as country. Could you do similarly for me with Denmark? Thanks

Mikael,

Simply post in the thread. I'll respond there are add you to the list.

You may have noticed I include both City and Country next to a member's name in the list where they have provided this information. You should add these details to your Location so other members can see immediately in each of your posts where you are. This doesn't reveal too much personal information but does assist getting more accurate replies as Jaguar specifications vary across the World markets.
