I am looking very strongly into getting a pre-owned 2011 XF. Will make up my mind in the morning, since I have until then to decide.
I like the ride, having a FX35 currently, which is very harsh on bad roads. The XF is better, not tremendously so, but enjoyable.
I'm not a Power freak, and the base engine is okay for me.
Signed up to see if I could get some REAL information on the XF.

I guess I can officially call myself a member of the club. I am now the proud owner of a very nice, (much better riding than I initially thought) 2011 Jaguar XF. I don't know much about it yet except that I DO like it a lot. I am not even sure of the exact name of the color. Its a very dark metalflake gray. Since it is pre-owned I have just a couple of things to get fixed. The Navigation DVD is kind of milky and sometimes it does not read. This is probably not covered, but the price of a new one appears to be reasonable. Since I did not get it from a Jaguar dealer the chance of them exchanging the one I have for a good one is probably slim.
The other item I want to fix is that the wheels have a few nicks that I HAVE to get fixed. No biggy to anyone but me, wife doesn't even see them. They are the standard wheels for the base model with 11 spokes. Remember the car is dark gray and everything else is chrome except for the wheels that are a light gray. Since I can get the same wheel in either the gray or chrome, I'd like to know what do you guys think?

LOL... Easy for you to say.... The base engine in a 2011 is the 385hp 5.0L V8!
Only 15hp shy of the "old" 4.2 Supercharged that was 400hp....
To answer the first one: Ask around / go talk to the dealers in your area. I think you may be surprised at how extensive the original manufacturer's warranty is. When I got my 05 S Type it still had time left on the OEM warranty before the certified warranty kicked in despite the fact that it was three years old. They fixed absolutely anything I wanted.. So, they will probably replace a faulty Nav DVD.
As for the wheels.... Does it drive right with no vibrations? I would assume so. My suggestion is to look into local shops that refinish wheels and restore the chipped one / ones to their original condition. The factory wheels are simply painted and cleared. Getting OEM wheels through an exchange program could end up with you getting a bent wheel or balance issues... Just a thought.
