Hi Everyone -

Just purchased a 2002 X Type (84,000 miles) last month and I really like it. I've owned various Mercedes the last 15 years and this is my first Jag. It reminds me alot of the C36 I owned several years ago.
Living in northern Minnesota it's been a great car in the snow and ice although being so low it loads up with a lot of snow around the wheels and side trim which I'm not to fond of...just a couple more months and that'll be over though.
Interesting tidbit - drove down to Minneapolis to buy the car - drove home in a storm. Fine - no problem...UNTIL I was at a red light and BAM! A kid without a license nor insurance....and stoned... slammed into me from behind! Yep - owned the car five hours and had to deal with that. Let your imagine go with what had to say to him. ;>) So looks like I'll be in need for a new back bumper considering this one now has a 6" crack in it.
I do have a few technical questions so I'm going to move on to another thread.

Welcome to the group Brenda. You got me beat, I had my car only seven days before I was rear-ended at a light. 5 hours must be a record, not to mention yiur personal best. enjoy the car and the forums.

I must be the lucky one, my car was at the dealers when someone rear ended the loaner!

 

Geesh - guess I'm not alone! Sorry to hear about your experiences. (But thanks for helping me feel a bit better too! LOL) Not a great "club" to be a member of - s'pose we could be in worse though.

Lovn the X type, that was what I owned, as you say, Great in the snow too!!
