Hey Everyone
For the first time in 30 years I drove a Jag. And now for the first time in 30 years I own one. It goes fast and flat - man, can it go round corners!
Anyway, it has a problem that is really annoying, especially at night. The interior lights come on and go off, I think more-so on bumpy roads, and the only remedy I've come up with is to thump the dash pad just to the left of where it rises to the speedo (I come from the land down under), somewhere above the clock. If I take it to an auto elec., he'll just laugh at me and disappear back under bonnet of the Holden he's working on.
"Jag specialist" I hear you say. Well yer don't see many of them critters round these here parts!
I came on line hoping to find a mechanically minded octopus with a miner's lamp and a screwdriver and stumbled across Jaguar Forums.com. I wondered if any of you are intending to take a holiday on Victoria's spectacular coastline in the coming weeks. Maybe you know an octopus? Or perhaps you can say "Yep, mine did that and I did this."
Cheers, Tony

Welcome to the Forums.
MMM, this :"thumping: sits with the:fiddle fix" of the older Jags.
The members in the XJ8/XJR (X308) Tech Section, down the home page a tad, will know.
I know the silly micro switches inside the door locks reek havoc with interior lights, but thats a loooong way from the bash.
Good luck.

Thanks Grant (and Norri and Jim). And thanks for the tip. I'll see how I go. And actually I'm not hitting the dash all that hard. I'm still enjoying driving it so much that I need both hands on the wheel.
Cheers
