New Member, New (to me) Car, New Make
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I'm in Buckinghamshire in England, with my first (and probably last - I'm old...) Jaguar, an '07 XK 4.2 n/a convertible with 15,000 - yes, 15,000 - genuine miles on the clock.
It had a minor front end shunt not long before I bought it, which I'm sorting out, and I'm hoping to find this is going to be a reasonable technical forum; I'm a good man with the spanners (wrenches for Americans) myself, though that there electrickery is not my forte...
The Jaguar has replaced a '94 Mercedes SL 500, and I'm hoping/expecting it will not be prone to the lots of little niggles the old Merc had (and one serious one - the engine blew up just before it was going up for sale).
Why the XK? It's a whim purchase; like the SL, it's dark metallic blue, it's a convertible, it has a decent-sized V8 engine, and I like its looks. It's not really fast (my daily driver has been until recently a succession of 5.5-litre supercharged E-class Mercedes), but I like it.
Now all I need is a fast blonde to go in the passenger seat...
That's enough; you're getting bored, aren't you?
