Hi all, thanks for having me.

Having just turned 30 not many men my age lust after an XJ, however they have always been on my radar.

I currently run a 2021 Audi TTS as my daily car which I love but find it impractical and uncomfortable on long journeys - therefore a weekend/2nd car is required.

Having had everything from a SAAB 9-3 Convertible, to a BMW 650I and then a Mercedes SL350 and S320 nothing was able to get the Jag from my mind so last year I purchased a 2007 x358 2.7 Sovereign in frost blue and brought it back from england.

I fell completely head over heels in love with the car, everything about it just felt right. Unfortunately my other half didnt share my enthuisasm, and made me trade it in shortly after for a 2012 Mercedes E Class convertible.

In comparison the mercedes was poorly built, noisy and felt like a severe step backwards. It developed a major engine problem 3 days after buying and was rejected and returned to the dealer. Heartbroken that I had sold my jag (I offered to buy it back for more money and the gentleman declined), the search was on for another.

I came across this stunning 2009 x358 Sovereign in Vapour grey with ivory leather. It was a 2 owner car with full service history but no MOT as it had laid up at the side of the owners house for several months. When I bought the car the paintwork was tired, and the power vents had been coated black. It was also fitted with grey selena alloys.

Fast forward 3 months and I am head over heels. The car has 130k on the clock but it makes me smile every time I drive the thing. The number of passing glances and admiration from all ages is remarkable and having owned several "heavy" cars from the big german 3 I can honestly say this car beats every one of them hands down. It is armoured which does blunt performance slightly but a remap has helpted transform the car.

I have just added a set of 20" Callisto alloys and chrome side vents which I think change the look of the car, and next on the agenda is to sort the restricted performance message and have it ceramic coated.

Below is a picture of my first jaguar, the 2007 Frost Blue car. Whilst I loved it at the time my Grey XJ just looks mean and menacing in comparison, and I wouldnt sell it for any price!

February 2022, 2007 2.7 Sovereign, 20" Takoba alloys. Sold and missed

September 2022, 2009 2.7 Sovereign heated and cooled seats, DAB, armoured

Welcome to the Forums.

Quite a journey.

Had a similar discussion many, many years ago,, I kept the MK X, took all of 3 seconds to decide.

Hello,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
130k is only just well broken in and loosened up for a modern engine. You should Easily get another 100k out of it with proper care and serviceing.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
