Hi Im a new member from SI NYC area
This is my second Jaguar I had a 2002 S-Type 3.0 for about 3 years now moved up to a 2005 XJR I love it
Just as every normal used cars I have it for about a year and having a few issues
A thump/rattle from front I had low arm bushings changed and breaks done and wheels swapped and aligned and still after checking everything there is the noise I still get and when I drive I can feel it not handle that well on right side when going over bumps
I don't want to jump to change shocks/struts yet just to make sure I'm not missing something or over looking
Also I like to know do I have to do it in pairs or can I change one at a time with the shocks?
I do notice if I push down on front corners that the Left die is stiff and the right is softer

The other issue is the flicker lights at dusk/dawn and every once and a while they seem to go light stronger and then normal and I also have caught them blink but not together for what I caught

I hope to get some answers and help and also help others and meet new friends

I have the same problem
I get my headlights do that every once and a while not at the same time one at at time as I'm driving either one will go or the other just a blink
also with at dusk they all do a quick blink on and off a few times so I shut off the auto lights
NOW I got when I shut car off and I get out everything blinks a few times so I did a unlock and lock with remote and it stop
What the *** can it be?????

So I changed to passenger side shock I have to say the car drives much better and I can tell Im going to have to change the other side also because the right side feels awesome and at this rate change all four but any way back to the noise
It didnt cure it 100% and yes my mechanic and I both agree its going to be the sway arm bushings that may correct the problem which I hope because its driving me crazy besides the money
I will keep you updated
BTW between the change and the bad gas I think I got somewhere, when I was driving around the dash gave me engine light and restricted performance check the codes it was P0171 P0170 P0174
after sitting over night everything went away
