I logged on here sometime ago and haven't been on for a few years. So, I thought I'd post a new member thread.
I have a 2004 Jaguar X-type 3.0 Auto that I've owned since 2007. I love the car hasn't given me a single issue until recently I put in myself a new transmission at 116k miles. A lot of people say mixed things about these cars. I'm used to British cars and some of there quirks. I bought it as a CPO car with 30k miles at the time. Figures nothing would go wrong until after the warranty ran out. But, I cannot complain too much. Besides tires and brakes it has lasted me this far. I've driven it to Florida and back and countless other road trips on top of being my daily vehicle. We had a blizzard here in Pittsburgh a couple years ago and with snow tires, the awd was a beast in over a foot of snow. It's very comfortable for me to drive and surprisingly I do get compliments occasionally at the gas station or store parking lots.
During my transmission install in my garage. I also replaced all the wheel bearings, struts/shocks, brakes, rear main seal, filters, starter, plugs/coils, and a few other miscellaneous bits. The car is paid off now and while not worth too much money. I enjoy the car so much, I've decided to run it until it's death. My family tends to run cars until they die. My mother drives a 1986 MB 300e with currently 254k miles. And my father has a 1999 Rav4L with 343k miles. Both have required little maintenance and still run great.
As far as non Jaguar cars I personally own. I also have a 2005 Lotus Elise. I have the Jaguar as my dd and the Elise for fun, perfect duo.
