Hi everybody, I have been lurking on the forum for a week or 2 and am encouraged by what I am seeing. Lots of tech tips and most importantly lots of constructive advice.

I bought a 2008 XJ Super V8 a couple weeks ago. So far I have been liking the car but have run into a few minor problems. Luckily I have a good mechanic who is very familiar with Jaguar's.

I am a bit of a British car buff, I have a couple MGB's one I have had since I was 20 years old and another I am restoring that I purchased a couple years ago. I didn't set out to buy a Jaguar. I was watching the Autotrader and stumbled on to one that what what I thought was a good deal but it sold without me getting an opportunity to test drive it.

I then stumbled on to the Super V8 and I'm glad I didn't get the XJ8 I initially looked at.

I am in Winnipeg, so the Jaguar is just getting acclimatized to our winters here, the car came from Ontario so it is likely rebelling to the -30 mornings we have had of late.

I mentioned I have had a few problems thus far, likely the car is rebelling a bit, the temp sensor failed, low tire pressure warning, a frosty battery that kicked out all kinds of goofy error codes, and I am getting the bushes replaced tomorrow on the control arm.

The does have 150k KM and it was the original battery so I guess that is to be expected.

Looking forward to participating.
Rick

Hello, Rick,
I can understand the kitty rebelling at -30! That's one of the reasons I left Montana.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to JF and hope you get plenty out of it after the car defrosts,I'd be rebelling too.
