New member from Scotland
Hi All,
I'm located in the far north of Scotland and have been reading the forum for quite a while through Google search results, long enough to see that the posts and advice seem of a consistently high standard.
So I've finally caved and decided to join you all!
I bought a 2003 model X350 XJR just over a year ago fearing that I would quickly come to regret my decision. Not a bit of it! After driving it up to the north of Scotland from the English midlands I had already fallen in love with it and have never owned a car that has sparked quite so many admiring comments from friends and strangers alike.
I was a main dealer technician (not Jaguar) for 10 years before changing careers to become a marine engineer so always do my own work on my cars.
To date on this car I have done a full service, including supercharger oil, transmission filter and oil, differential oil as well as the usual engine oil, fuel, air filters and spark plugs.
Have replaced 6 of the front lower wishbone bushes, both rear shock bushes and outer rear lower wishbone bushes.
Replaced all discs and pads including full strip down, (careful) bead blasting, parts washing and reassembly with new pistons of the brake calipers.
I've also fitted a K&N Air Filter, fabricated my own intake pipe from the airbox to the intake plenum out of 316 stainless steel and polished the inside of the plenum before wrapping all of it in glass fibre heatwrap bandage.
Next project is taking place this coming week to remove the supercharger and strip, clean, polish, replace bearings and drive coupling before reassembling with a 10% smaller pulley. I'll take the opportunity to polish out and clean the throttle body and elbow too. Check the EGR and replace the valley coolant hose and fit the new updated Bosch coolant pump.
I'll post pictures once I'm able to, as I believe new members can't do that yet?
Anyway, good to join you and happy motoring/tinkering!

Welcome to the forum Tesla,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
It sounds like you've already found the X350 model forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
