new member from scotland
hi folks,
i'm kenny from edinburgh in sunny scotland and thought i'd sign up to the forum seeing ive just picked up a 1966 mk2 3.8 auto, a bit incomplete at the moment as i have in 1 hand a pretty rust free but well faded rolling shell, and in the other hand a freshly rebuilt 3.8 engine with an xjs 5speed getrag gearbox waiting to be dropped in. no doubt i'll be needing some information about this fairly common conversion so if anyone can point me to anyone who has done the conversion or any threads linked to the conversion i'd be forever in your debt. i have most things required for the job in hand, pedal box, master cylinders etc etc but need advice on propshafts and the best way to refit the engine as ive heard some folk drop the engine/gearbox in from the top and some drop the front x/member and then lift the bodyshell over the engine and box. anyway thats my future dilemmas, happy days, late nights, sweat blood and no doubt tears along the way!!
cheers

Welcome to the forum Kenny,
What a wonderful project to take on. I'm green with envy. Please start a thread in the tech section documenting progress. There will be a lot of interest from those doing similar projects and those who wish they were.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/mki-mkii-s-type-240-340-daimler-61/ to the MKII section for help, advice and information.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You may also like to visit the UK Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/ to find other members in this country.
