New Member sez hello
We have a 2003 XKR roadster with 45,000 miles and LOVE it. My mechanic recommended we join a forum to get some feedback on our one issue with our otherwise great car--the Adaptive speed control module has burned out and the dealer wants $6500 and recommended we find one from a wrecked car, but everytime we do it does not pass muster before it is offered by the dismantler. Prices have ranged from $175-$1275 [hmmm]. Somewhere I got part #C2C23960 then got that contradicted and was told it is VIN # sensitive VIN SAJDA42B833A33176. Any feeback from you guys will be greatly appreciated. We also belong to a Corvette forum and the give-and-take has been wonderful over the last 8 years. So look forward to being helpful as well as getting help.

lemme see if my jaguar electronic parts catalog gives that part number... yup, old number superceded by that one.
yikes...pricey indeed. Adaptive modules for that year probably weren't very popular...maybe try a rebuild place instead? There are couple recommended ECU and ABS module companies used and mentioned on the forums, perhaps they'd take a look at your adaptive cruise module?
If you want the electronic parts catalog for your own use, we've got a link to the download location in the FAQ thread atop this subforum...but get your post count up too, otherwise pics and links may not work for ya.

Danny: $3900 is still too much to throw into a cruise control module blindly. The fact that they have a core charge indicates it's a rebuildable item.
Have you by chance had the codes checked on your car? Often, other issues (i.e. P1637 code) will also knock the cruise control offline. Also, a $70 brake switch failure can cause problems not commonly thought of. With the price of Jag Parts, there's no substitute of a full analysis by a really good shop.
If you do require a new module, see if the ECM rebuilder in Rogersville, TN can help you. They seem to be able to recondition just about anything electrical. See other postings for their name/address.

My local garage [they are great] replaced my battery and this is perhaps the [unforunate] magic moment but I am not sure. In any case, ANYTHING electrical now goes to the dealer. The #1 experience I am having is that dismantled parts have failed on a wholesale basis before they even tried to sell them [11 or 12 now] and the last dismantler claimed its position on the car [nose] is the problem--I wonder. I started in Chicago and all those 'gentlemen' recently arrived from a faraway land and wanted $1275 range. My last attempt was knucklebusters in Pa 877-453-0909 and they are $175 [that sounds too low but worth the $500 install/flash by the dealer]. They are great to work with --Anthony/Mark and still looking. We LOVE our XKR otherwise--have put 20,000 miles on it in 5 years--this is the only 'issue'.

Denny,
Welcome to the forum. As a fellow Grass Valleyite (Alta Sierra) I wish you well in your pursuit finding the part for your car that works.
Being new to Jaguar's myself, would you mind either mentioning your local garage or pm me. I don't mean to hijack your thread!
Best of luck with the control module.
