I have found so much great information on this forum and am so glad that so many Jaguar owners out there like to share stories, ideas and troubleshooting solutions. I acquired a 1994 XJ12 in not very great shape for a very reasonable price a while back and it has sat on my driveway for a long while. The previous owner was a Navy buddy who went to Iraq and before he left he asked me if he could store it at my house. He came home and decided that instead of spending the money to fix up his Jag, he'd just go buy a new Datsun instead and not have the troubles. So he left me a key, a title and a big, burgundy mess. It has a lovely V-12 Jaguar that needs plumbing work, ignition work, tuning work, brake work, interior work, suspension work and lastly a little body work. Fortunately I always wanted a big V-12 Jaguar and the price was right, free. So it sits there waiting for me. this weekend I'll be diving into the plumbing and ignition more and finally seeing if I can get both banks to fire off like they are supposed to. I have everything needed except the MAF for each side, but if it comes down to that I'll just have to wait until Christmas. Hopefully I can get it to stop spraying coolant like a sprinkler and get it to quit hunting. I also am on the lookout for some affordable (pronounced cheap) wheels for it. The previous owner wasn't exactly a man of great taste, he did after all abandon a Jaguar for a new Datsun, so it has very ugly and rough riding 20 inch, pitted, chrome rims and rubber bands for tires. I like my luxury cars to be firm in the corners, but still float smoothly in the straights. Hope to have some pictures up of the poor neglected machine as I get through it. Also, if there are any people out there looking to buy a pretty nice parts car or one to fix up themselves it is available to the right buyer. For now though, I'll tinker with it. Thanks for reading.
