Hi everyone,

I've been running a 2000 XJ8 4.0 for a couple of years now. Mainly a happy experience although this car has more "personality" than any I've owned before. It's my first Jag, and when it's in the right mood, is a real pleasure to drive. Get in on a bad day though, and the experience is less pleasant.

It also seems to have become my wife's car somehow. She suffers with carpal tunnel in her left wrist and maintains that the gearbox on the Punto (which seems to be my car now) causes her great discomfort. However, a bit like the dog, when the Jag misbehaves it is once again all mine.

I can still enjoy looking at it on my drive every evening though

Welcome to the forum David,

Good to have you with us.
That sounds like a familiar tale.

If you haven't already done so you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome David,

Shame you just get to look at it. The least she could do is let you wash it on a Sunday.

You'll find plenty of help and info in the X308 section for bringing misbehaving Jags into line.

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see you.

Just a thought, why not buy the wife a LHD Punto, that way there could be no excuses.

My old company used to lend me a first gen' Punto, used to love the way it went 'Boiiing' when I shut the door.
