Hello Everyone:
This is a great community and I've been reading the posts for nearly a year now - lots of very useful information and helpful people.
I've owned several British vehicles over the past 30 years:
1961 Austin 850
1966 Austin Cooper 1275S
1967 Morris Cooper 1275S
1968 Land Rover Series IIA
1995 Land Rover Discovery
I currently have a 1995 Range Rover County LWB (owned and maintained for 21 years) and two 2000 XK8 convertibles which i purchased last August. The XK8s were part of a "package deal" from the seller - I had to take both cars or no deal. The BRG XK8 was owned and wonderfully maintained by the seller (a retired USMC Colonel) for 16 years - I've added new rear shocks and top bushings, patched the octopus hose, replaced the battery, replaced the driver door motor, and a few other minor things. It is a joy to drive. The Black XK8 was a non running nikasil engine failure vehicle but it did include a spare engine and a few extra parts. I've worked for months on that darn car. I've installed the spare engine and spent about $2K on parts and equipment. It's a crank but no start situation - no spark. I've replaced the coils, plugs, battery, fuel pump (lots of fun there!) and most of the relays. There is 12V at the coil relay - but I will get into all of that later - first wanted to say hello to you guys.
