Wanted to start posting after I just came across an annoying issue in my 07 XJR, inexplicable reduction to a dribble from both of the windshield washers.
Living here in extreme SW Ontario along the lakeside of Lake Erie’s North Shore. Southern Ontario’s other Wine Country.
The car has been with me to Europe while I was in school for eight years. From Rotterdam when it was delivered through Bavaria to Austria and on to Budapest. Then up to Warsaw and through to Szczecin for several years. Then many trips to Berlin and Prague, Vienna and Budapest for the summers. Eventually back to Rotterdam and returning home just two short years ago where it’s been in storage until recently. It was time to get back on the road with the good weather.
Plans for the future to get the rims reconditioned, especially my 19” Sabre rims which came with the car as they’ve never been touched since new, and possibly a set of winter rubber. These 20” Sepang rims were done 2 years ago, still looking ok but there’s always room for improvement maybe and a new set of all season tires maybe if I don’t go with winters on the other set.
And of course, she’s hit her top speed in many of those autobahn trips. Was tuned by V-Tech Polska. +50 HP/torques on dyno. The difference was night and day. Driving the car now, on Canadian roads, the extra passing power is always welcomed. Just have to beware the lead foot. Met Officer OPP this morning. Warning only.

Against the wishes of family members because of the always limited garage space. But after the pandemic these cars have gained value, as many others. And a cursory online search yielded almost none for sale anywhere. Why not keep it when it’s low mileage, running strong, has all those memories coming with me across the ocean? Only problem was that putting it on insurance meant Hagerty only since regular insurance in Ontario would’ve been $1900-3000. It was insane. and only for limited use of 4000 miles/6000km a year. Had to transfer to my dad to get it on Hagerty since they won’t insure unless it’s a secondary car. Since I’m not working, home most of the time anyway, it was no big deal. It was his car before he gifted it to me originally anyway 10 years ago.
