New Member in Tampa - Just bought a 2003 S-Type 3.0 with Issues
Hello, I am AmDazed.
Just bought a 2003 S-Type 3.0 6 cyl with 88,000 Miles in Tampa. I recently ran into some business challenges and am on a very limited budget but I got the vehicle cheap enough(After my last one died) to be able to put a little money and TLC into it to bring it back to life.
Been Lurking here for the last week. Great forums with great people so far. Love the enthusiasm over Jaguar here.
My car's interior is nearly perfect though it's exterior/paint needs some work.
It has some other issues to work out too so I'll be doing some posting right away.
Here are my current issues and to-do list and I'll post updates as I work them out:
Get PC OBD software working with the car.
Fix ABS issue. (Replaced Back Left Sensor and waiting on OBD software to reset codes and further troubleshoot)
Fix front passenger and rear driver side lock issues.
Sync two aftermarket Key FOBs for wireless entry. (After OBD software working)
Have two aftermarket Key's Cut and Programmed for ignition. (Looking for best local price)
Oil and Filter Change. (Probably fully synthetic - recommendations welcomed)
Change all breaks and rotors. (Standard Rotors with Good Ceramic Pads - On order)
Replace factory stereo. (Going with my used Pyle 7" 2 Din from previous car - Adapters/Kits Received)
Test and likely replace 3 yr old battery.
Replace aftermarket rims with factory. (Car came with chromed aftermarket rims installed and factory rims in the back seat, I think the factory ones may look more classy.)
Have the faded clear coat silver painted over with black to blend in with the bottom of the car.
When I get the money:
Replace the struts.
Considering doing an led conversion.
I'm looking forward to being part of the community and am already well on my way to becoming a Jaguar enthusiast.
Unusual to see a two colour car nowadays - it looks good on the S-Type.
I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Thanks, I wish the silver looked as good in real life as it does in pictures. I'm sure it looked pimp when fresh. The original car was silver, the black was added by the previous owner 8 years ago. Now it looks like someone took sand paper to all the flat silver surfaces of the car.
Thanks for the tips as well,
I chose that placing because it seams the pre 2005 s-types differ from most the other Jaguars and after reading through the other forums threads that were related, most the answers didn't apply to the 2003 s-type and the ones that did were conflicting. So I figured hit up the s-type people.
The question is, for my future reference, do you think I would have been better served by posting it somewhere else?
