I'm Colonel Terry M. "Skip" Curtis, United States Marine Corps Retired. I've been driving British cars for over 40 years. My first was a '70 MGB, Later, I acquired a '68 XKE Roadster (Ascot Fawn with a black top). Sold them when I was transferred to Italy and, later, Germany. Bought an '80 MGB as the line ended, and drove it 28 years. My 2004, 38274, XK8 Convertible was acquired after a lessee banged up the front end in New York and dumped the car to a cheap repair job and auction. I brought the car to sunny Southern California and had the front end removed, corrected, resprayed, and chromed the 19" Apollo wheels. See http://calchrome.com/wheels_jaguar.php for my XK8.

I was a pilot and am, therefore, very maintenance and preventive maintenance oriented. I like a correct car; and this one is as correct as Hoehn Carlsbad Jaguar Service and I can make it.

It's great to have found this forum. I have benefited from what I have read and look forward to a long and happy association.
