New Philly F-Type

New Philly F-Type
Christmas came early.........!
I’ve been looking for a convertible, on and off now, for about 20 years, to replace the TVR 350 I had to leave behind in England, but you know…life, kids, dogs, divorce, etc. I started entertaining the idea of a 987 Boxster and tested a few out, then the V8 F-Type started dropping into my price range. I booked a test drive and the moment I pressed the start button, I lost all mental clarity. I had to have one, just not that one. It was a sorry unloved example and I knew there would be better ones out there.
So after months of looking and a couple of ones that got away, (the market for tidy F-Types, seems to have been hot since the US opened back up again after the shut-down), I found this one. A 2014 example with a little over 13,000 miles on it and full JLR service history. It’s a blast to drive, reminds me of my youth, driving my TVR, with the added bonus of it not feeling like it’s about to come apart at any minute and my feet don’t get wet when it rains.
I don’t have any mods planned, except for the battery tender connector I added in the trunk already and the “Start” & “P” buttons, that I exchanged for ones that didn’t look like Edward Scissorhands had been driving the car. To this point I have not stood next to it and said to myself, “It’s nice, but it would be better with a ……”, so I plan on just washing it and putting gas in for now. Yeah, we know how that goes. Please don’t tell my wife I said that, in 6 months’ time, when I’m fighting with a new SC pulley!
Cheers!
