New potential XK8 owner
Hello All!
I've been into cars, motorcycles and working for years and appreciate the knowledge and wisdom of forums like this.
Looking forward to learning lot and sharing what I find in the journey.
Looing at a 98 XK* and have learned much just lurking.

Welcome to the forums Jackleg,
The single biggest concern with the early XK8 is original plastic timing chain tensioners. Nikasil cylinders used to be a worry but any that have lasted this long without issue aren't going to give any trouble now.
If you haven't already found it, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Southern Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...rn-midwest-67/ to find other members in your region.
Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
