Default New to site, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself

I recently purchased my first Jaguar a 2003 XJ8 with 26k miles, it is black with ivory interior. I am absolutely in love with it. I will post some pics soon.
I have been looking at your website several nights now and have come up with some questions of my own. Just wondering if my car is a candidate for the “Chain tensioner upgrade” my engine number is LL0206191532. Did Jaguar install metal tensioners at this point in production?

WOW, 26k miles... just got my XJ8 late last year with 67k miles... I know I love it... and was told that you don't have to worry about the Chain Tensioner upgrade, I Hope I am not wrong.

Welcome and congrats. You have the latest and greatest timing chain tensioners (and chains) installed in your car from the factory. Extended periods of operation above 160 MPH may cause excessive wear. Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum nicknack. I have an 02 XJ8 with 29,000 miles. We are sooo lucky. I must have the latest tensioners too because mine were replaced under warranty for the previous owner. Enjoy

Welcome nicknack. You've received good news already!

Hey dougs02, what kind of shape is your '87 Elky in? I HAD an '85 that I took from a tired old V6 into a 327cu/375hp beauty with new paint, custom interior, suspension, wheels, etc. Then one day I was washing her up on the driveway when a fella drove up with an offer I couldn't refuse. Next day she was gone. But, never forgotten.

Welcome to the forum. I've got almost 100k miles over you, and still running strong. You should be good for quite a while.
