Default New South Aussie on board!

Hi Ladies and Gents.

I have been a fan of Jaguars for quite a while, infact my first car was a '74 XJ6 Series II (4.2L British Racing Green). I bought it off my mates father, with a '72 Series I spare parts car for $3,000 ten years ago. (while I was still on my learners permit!)

It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't in great condition either. So we slowly set about to improving it. And then before we knew it, life got in the way and it sat in his parents yard for 5 years. Then it was moved to my place where it has sat for another 4.

Now having sat in the weather for so long it has gotten in a little worse condition, but I still love it.

Early next year I am down to marry my fiance, and while the venue doesn't really NEED a car, I Want one. Especially as I don't intend on getting rid of it anytime, so this will help tie it even stronger into the family.

So as there is a few things that needs to be done to it, I thought it was time I joined a Jaguar forum for advice on certain jobs, and maybe even some connections when it comes to parts.

I look forward to getting my Jag back on the road and getting to know you fine Ladies and Gents.

Cheers Tanner

Welcome aboard.

That list of your fleet is formidable, but the Jag still reigns supreme.

Where in this dry State you call home??.

Sounds like your "wife" is like mine. A spare Jag is the least of her worries, she knows EXACTLY where I am at any given time.

Post up in the XJ6 S1,2,3 area your queries. Dont put too mnay questions in one post, it gets confusing, so split them up a a tad, no one will complain, trust me.

It's hard too choose between the Jag, Saab and the ute. They would have to be my favourites, but the adventures I have had with that ute probably push it to number 1. Best of those times was driving it down Gawler beach, right to the mouth, and having less dramas than actual 4wds. I will admit my very low tire pressure and off road experience carried me there. Hopefully once the Jag is on the road again, it can reclaim number one spot.

As for where... I try to hold on to a little bit of anonymity on forums, having had people be weird a little while ago.

And yeah I had a quick peruse of the XJ6 area, some good stuff there. Yeah always one topic per post, otherwise it does get hella confusing!

First though, I have to deal with the engine mount and the extractors, then I will be going to that area and reading all I can up on swapping petrol tanks!

Thanks for the welcome mate!

Welcome to the forum Tanner,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I hope the project goes to schedule and you aren't forced to delay the wedding.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj6-xj12-series-i-ii-iii-16/ to the XJ6 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

I can see you've already found the South Australia Region forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
